Brief Story of Xerjoff Perfumes
How many years has Xerjoff been around? This a curious fact, but sources often disagree on this issue. Some say that Xerjoff is one of the oldest brands in Italy, while others say it was created recently. However, in reality, everything is simple. This unusual niche brand has been created not once but twice!
An Italian perfumer with a philosophical mindset, Casamorati has been researching how smells affect people and their aesthetic and spiritual features. In 1888, Casamorati began to create perfumes to find out in practice what scents people like and improve mood and delight.
The brand’s owner created aromatic formulas for people close to him in spirit – the creative elite, erudite personalities, and aesthetes. Now his creations would be called “glamorous”, in the correct, original, and good sense of the word. The bohemian cream of high society of those times, tempted and spoiled by luxury, were simply crazy about the creations of Casamorati.
Such were the perfumes of the Xerjoff house of those times. Top quality, unique ingredients, complex formulas, and sophisticated packaging. Truly, precious pleasure! The recipes for those ancient fragrances are still the company’s secret, and the ownership of secret formulas is strictly protected.
One of Monsieur Casamorati’s discoveries was “musical spirits” – aromas that do not develop sequentially, along a pyramid but sound as if in one plane, like a piece of music. Artistic, bright, and aristocratic Xerjoff fragrances fully confirmed their creator’s ideas, became a sign of great taste, gained power over people, and received the status of luxury.
The company experienced ups and downs; at the end of the last century, it was almost forgotten in general. The bright and magnificent revival of the company began in the early 2000s. The company was recreated in 2003-2004. designed by Sergio Momo and Dominique Salvo.
The new collections of the Xerjoff Casamorati brand stirred up the public because, with a good name, the current owner of the company received secret formulas from the brand! Based on this masterpiece, verified and proven recipes over the years, the second appearance of the brand once known throughout Europe took place.
Venetian glass flacons by Murano glassblowers also emphasize the value and uniqueness of the fragrances. Sergio Momo himself created sketches of precious vessels. The unique method of the masters makes the glass sparkle and sparkle because the gold leaf hides in its thickness, which seems to illuminate the bottles from the inside with an explosion of bright sparks.
The volume of each vessel is not accurate and is 30-40 ml, this error is caused by manual production. The falcons are crowned with a chic golden cap, which stands proudly like an emperor’s crown. The bottle’s cap has become a calling card and a bright stylistic characteristic of the brand. The cork does not just close the bottle but serves as a “guardian” of valuable contents.
Everything connected with the birth of Xerjoff fragrances – from raw materials to bottles – is closely intertwined with the outside world. The search for rare ingredients, attention to their growth and flowering cycles, harvesting techniques, proper storage, and transportation – everything is given importance, every nuance is taken into account, which invariably leads the brand to achieve unsurpassed results in creating deep, multifaceted aromas.
Since the acquisition of the Casamorati brand dating back to 1888, Xerjoff has dated its creation to the 19th century. The world of Xerjoff fragrances is dominated by amazing compositions of generous Mediterranean gardens with their splashing citrus juice and fragrant flowers, the aromas of a hot Italian night, mesmerizing meteor showers, and aromas of luxury, pleasure, and passion.
