What is Sage?
Sage is a genus of evergreen shrubs and subshrubs in the mint family that grows about 70 cm high. They have single, small leaves set on petioles that are soft to the touch, usually hairy and silvery green in color. Large sage flowers are typically large, have ridged forms, and form in inflorescences that, at first glance, resemble hyacinths. They come in blue, purple, brick red, pink and white. They flower in May and June.
Different Types of Sage
Sage is an example of this genus. It has erect, usually four-angular or round stems, wrinkled leaves with a slight corrugated edge, and silver-green leaves. It reaches a height of about 40 – 70 cm and has flowers arranged in four to eight peaks of violet-blue spikes. It has oval or oblong leaves with long petioles.
