Shortly after YouTube announced its crackdown on ad blockers, the platform shared plans to improve its paid Premium service to encourage people to start paying for YouTube. This way, you not only skip ads, but also get access to some cool features.
One such feature is Playables, and it’s reportedly now available to paid users. Playables is a dedicated section on your YouTube app or website that lets you play arcade games. Some premium users are getting a notification from YouTube that they can now enable Playables in their settings.
By enabling the Playables tab, you can start playing one of the 37 games available right now, one of which is Angry Birds Showdown. Best of all, you don’t need to download anything – all games run in your desktop browser or the YouTube mobile app.
We ‘ve seen a similar approach at Netflix, but we don’t yet know if it will prove itself well. In fact, even YouTube isn’t sure, saying the service will be available until March 28, 2024, and will likely decide whether to keep the Playables section after that.
